Performance Dance

Classical Ballet

Ballet finds its origin in the Italian Renaissance social courts where members of the aristocracy danced in patterns for pleasure at social court gatherings. Ballet as we know today started to evolve into a professional art form as early as the 17th century. Ballet is known for its aesthetics and rigorous techniques such as pointe work, turned out legs and high extensions. Amongst these technical aspects Ballet possesses ethereal and flowing qualities and movements.

Maestro Enrico Cecchetti depicted certain fundamental aspects which were drawn up as an exact and meticulous system with careful regard for the laws of anatomy. These aspects are specifically designed to furnish the body with all those qualities essential to the dancer:

balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity and ballon

Ballet will engrave eternal perseverance, confidence and a sense of self-discipline within any child who aspires to commit to the world of Classical Ballet.
